Get Involved!
We offer a variety of Committees as a way for you to get more involved with the JCBIA. Whether you want to help plan events, share your expertise in a specific part of our industry, or get involved with membership outreach, we have a committee for you. There is no added cost to join a committee. Participants must be employed by a JCBIA Builder or Associate Member.
Committee Opportunities
Community Outreach
Involvement in the community to assist in areas of need. Some ideas are a Blessing Box with canned foods and toiletries to take what you need; a Library Box with JCBIA name on it to “borrow books”; assist our high schools that have a construction trades class to secure much needed materials and other ideas or needs as they arise.
Education
The Education Committee oversees the educational programs offered by the association, ensuring seminars and classes are convenient, affordable, and cover a wide range of topics to meet the needs of members. Additionally, the committee collaborates with staff to coordinate Discover Construction Day in partnership with Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS). This includes recruiting exhibitors, speakers, and other resources to provide high school students with valuable insights and hands-on experiences in the construction industry.
Golf Tournaments
Seek and secure players/teams and sponsors and oversee all aspects of the Spring and Fall Golf Tournaments.
Government Affairs and BUILDPAC
JCBIA advocates for policies that protect housing affordability and enhance the community’s economic and social benefits. We work to safeguard our members' interests in construction, building codes, environmental and land use and tax and revenue policies. BUILDPAC is a non-partisan fundraising committee supporting pro-housing candidates at the state and local levels. Your contributions help elect leaders who understand and champion issues critical to the home building industry and your business.
Membership
Identifies and recruits new members of the association and promotes involvement in all association programs and activities.
New Homes Tour
The New Homes Tour Committee manages, produces, and oversees all aspects of the Association's Parade of Homes and the Deck the Doors Open House Tours. These events serve as vital sources of non-dues revenue, while the committee ensures their success and positive impact for both members and the community.
Events Committee
The Party Committee is dedicated to planning and executing fun and engaging events that bring JCBIA members together. Responsibilities include organizing the Membership Appreciation Day with music, dancing, and great food, coordinating quarterly Mix and Mingle networking events, assisting with General Membership meetings and helping implement the Annual Christmas Party and Installation of Officers Dinner. This committee ensures our events are memorable, well-organized, and full of opportunities to connect and celebrate!
Marketing, Public Relations & Communications
The Marketing, Public Relations & Communications Committee develops and implements programs to enhance the industry's reputation, promote the association's initiatives, and strengthen its image within the community through strategic marketing, effective communication, and public relations efforts.
Scholarship & School Supply
The Scholarship & School Supply Committee is dedicated to supporting education by providing scholarships to deserving students and organizing school supply drives. This committee works to foster future leaders and strengthen community ties by investing in educational resources and opportunities for local students.
